Behind the Music Video for “Saknar”
A Creative Collaboration Across the Atlantic
The project behind “Saknar” began with a powerful original track – “Missing” by Victoria Fisher, an artist and songwriter based in New York. I was immediately drawn to the song and reached out to Victoria with an idea: to create a Swedish version with new lyrics and production. She was open to the collaboration, and that marked the beginning of a project that would grow both musically and visually.
The Swedish lyrics to “Saknar” were written by me, Peter Billeqvist, together with vocalist Ellen Schönbeck, who also performs the song. I collaborated with Joakim Lindahl on the production – he and I form the core of Cordial Station, a platform for music projects where we regularly work with guest artists.
The song is produced by me and Joakim. The mix and master were completed in Los Angeles by renowned audio engineer Matty Harris, whose credits include working with artists like Kelly Clarkson, A$AP Rocky, and Sammy Adams. We were thrilled to have his expertise in finalizing the sound of the track.
Saknar
To bring another layer to the project, we produced a music video filmed in Knäppingsborg, located in Norrköping, Sweden – with generous support from Tinas Café and Hotel Strand, where the video was shot. Directed by professional video producer Mikael Hellström, the result is a clean, atmospheric video that visually enhances the emotion of the song.
The music video features a talented cast of actors:
Vanessa Jansson, Anders L. Jonsson, Johanna Jerrevång, Mikael Wolodko, Rebecca Lundgren, Elia Nikolakopoulos, Tina Karlsson, Malin Levin, and Mila Ohlsson – all of whom brought depth and energy to the final result.
